Digital Production BuZZ (1/14/16)

Share This Content - Welcome to the Digital Production BuZZ, the world’s longest running podcast for creative content producers covering media production, post production, marketing and distribution around the world. On this week’s BuZZ we’re pleased to continue our “Tech Talk” and “Perspective with Randi Altman” segments as well as chat with three terrific guests who share with us how virtual reality is bringing the past to life, help us examine the latest developments in motion control, as well as explore what lies ahead in the future of filmmaking! Check it out!

We move into this week’s BuZZ by welcoming back one of our favorite contributors to the show, Randi Altman for another look at her perspective on the latest industry news. Randi chats with us and gives us her perspective on the offerings from last week's CES trade show, some of the trends among the field of the newly released Academy Awards nominations, and more. As always, Randi fills us in on it all, so be sure to check it out today!

To start off this week’s guest interviews, Larry and Mike welcome (via Skype) Srinivas Krishna, founder and CEO of AWE, a software developer that enables people to interact in new and imaginative ways using their mobile devices and augmented reality. Srinivas explains how they created the world’s largest, one-of-a-kind virtual reality experience at the Fort York National Historic Site in Toronto.

Next in the line-up, The BuZZ examines how a new partnership between DitoGear and Trost Motion has combined precision motion control with camera sliders to create amazingly precise camera slides. Gave Cheifetz, CEO of Trost Motion, joins us (via Skype) to explain how this new system works.

For a quick break from interviews, this week's installment of our "Tech Talk” segment features an excerpt from one of Larry Jordan's insightful editing training courses. This brief video tutorial gives us an inside look at some helpful tips and tricks for editing dance & music videos. Enjoy!

Last but not least, our final interview takes us to the phones for a great chat with filmmaker, photographer, and Supervising Producer of The BuZZ, Cirina Catania. Cirina recently attended CES 2016 in Las Vegas, looking at new technology for filmmakers, and in this interview she joins us to share her vision of what’s coming.
